Situated in the beautiful town of Hythe, the Red Lion is a perfectly situated for all types of visitors. Close to the beach and only 30 minutes away from Canterbury. Close to Dover, why not spend a few nights before travelling to Europe. Whether its for one night, a short break or a longer holiday you can be assured of a comfortable relaxing stay with us. Each room features individual decor, ensuite facilities, TV, Wi-Fi and tea & coffee making facilities. We offer some deliciously tempting menus from lunches to evening meals and some fantastic mid-week meal promotions. Great pub, delicious food, really good service & very accommodating hosts.
We organized a large group of 16 walking friends to finish up here for lunch. We couldn’t have asked for better. We were given one large table, orders taken for drinks (we had pre-ordered the food), and delicious, varied food served up with smiles and great service.. we will return! Thank you very much.
Met my daughter here for dinner in the restaurant and we had a brilliant time. The restaurant is nice and the staff is attentive and lovely. The food is delicious - we ordered nachos, steak and pizza. We ate a lot and it was really tasty. I also have a food allergy to sesame and they took excellent care of me, making this a safe place to eat. We sat in the beer garden after our dinner and it’s nice too, it was quite chilly but in the summer this will be a great beer garden in the sun. Brilliant pub, will be back.
We are regulars and came in for the Christmas menu around 3 pm this afternoon (sun 22 Dec 24). The food was excellent, roasties were delightful. Amazing staff, as usual, were brilliant. Thoroughly recommend
Excellent Christmas roast. The roast potatoes were fabulous as was everything. Staff were fantastic. Certainly eat there again.
This is a pub we have consistently visited over many years.Friendly staff decent beer & wines ..steak night is always good & last week was excellent..choose the sirloin & have a sauce !
